The Viewing Files: 365 Movies in 365 Days - Week Forty

Reality bites in this week's viewing with my usual weird and quirky taste in documentaries. There are also books and cats so you know that these are just so totally me in every way.

Young @ Heart
Original release: 2007
Synopsis: You're never too old to sing rock songs.

Oldies singing rock songs.  It's kind of cool and a little sad.
Carole King: Natural Woman
Original release: 2016
Synopsis:
The life and times of Carole King

Now this is how to do a music documentary.  One that makes the subject and her music so interesting that you come out wanting to listen to her music.  Which is especially amazing considering I didn't really know any of her music... or at least I thought I didn't until I heard some of it in this film.
Love Between the Covers
Original release: 2015
Synopsis:
A look at the world of romance novels

Totally my kind of documentary and one I really enjoyed.  A great look into romance novels and the writers who write them.
Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise
Original release: 2016
Synopsis: The life and times of Maya Angelou

A wonderfully inspiring woman who over came incredible hardship and abuse to find meaning in poetry and in life and a documentary that shows just that.

Watch and be inspired.

Just Eat It
Original release: 2014
Synopsis: A look at food waste

I'm a dumpster diver fan so naturally I had to watch this.   It's kind of revolting but also fascinating.
Kedi
Original release: 2016
Synopsis:
Cats and more cats

Wanna watch cats doing things that cats do and follow them as they roam around?  Then this is the perfect movie for you (and me).

Wonderfully wonderful.
Three Identical Strangers
Original release: 2018
Synopsis: 3 men who find out that their lives are stranger than they realise.

OMG.

This movie is just so fascinating that you can't take your eyes of it.  One of the strangest stories I've seen.  You'll be glued to your seat wanting to know more.
Dive
Original release: 2010
Synopsis:
Food wastage and what can be done

Yeah it's dumpster diving again.

What can I say.  I'm an addict. And don't get me started on the YouTube videos which show people diving for household items, stationary, furniture... yep you name stores throw it away and people take it.

I so missed my calling.
Finding Vivian Maier
Original release: 2013
Synopsis:
Who was Vivian Maier?

Imagine coming across boxes and boxes of photographs and negatives but no one knows who the photographer was.

This is the story of what turned out to be one of the most amazing photographic discoveries of a lifetime and the mystery person behind the camera.

I highly recommend checking this documentary out.
Iris
Original release: 2014
Synopsis:
A 90 year old fashion icon.

Life goal - to be like Iris when I'm 90.

Yet another inspiring woman and another documentary that was totally worth watching.
