All The Plans 2026

A new year and new list of plans.  Some old and some new.  Because yes I can never have a enough to do or making enough list.  List Girl strikes again it seems.

As for the plans...

Reading

Do we really need to even ask?  Probably not.   Reading is pretty much my go to thing.
Gardening

Weirdly I've actually already started on this... and that's despite the crazy up and down weather we've been having.  So far the plan is to finish the weeding of which I'm about two thirds through already, lay down some compost, plant some more seedlings and cross fingers all goes well
101 Things In 1001 Days

Why yes I have actually started this.  Amazing as it is.  Still I've got a long way to go and only and few months to do it all in.  I'm getting tired just thinking about it all.
Writing

Still on the list.  Sadly all writing pretty much stopped this year.  But despite that I'm hopeful for this year.   I just need no distractions...
Get Fit and Healthy

Was going well until it wasn't but I'm determined to get back on track.
Watching and Reviewing

One thing that is actually going well.  I just need to keep up the good work and finish watching about a thousand odd movies...
Moving On

One of those big plans.  The kind that involves packing up our lives and moving house.  Of course we need to find said house first...
A Birthday Ending In Zero

And finally the big one.  Or at least one of the big ones.  And since it's pretty much just me I'm planning all sorts of nice little things for a whole week of birthday celebrations.  Naturally cake and lots of presents will be involved.  Mostly because I'll be buying the cake and presents for myself.  Mmm that present list is starting to look just a tad long...

March Plans

Hard to believe it's Autumn already considering how hot, steamy and muggy it has been here lately.  I'm almost looking forward to winter just so I can enjoy the cooler weather.

Plans however are very much on the agenda for the next few months as I've just got so much to do before those frosty, snowy months arrive.

Gardening

The big one on the list.  Mostly because there is so much I need to do before cold arrives in abundance.  There's harvesting, laying down endless sheets of cardboard and brown paper, to be followed by more layering of compost and other odds and ends, trimming a variety of trees and shrubs... and well you get the picture.  All I need now is for the rain to hold itself back so I can get stuck in.
Writing

After having a break for the last few months I feel ready to get stuck back in and maybe finally finish or at least finish part one of the story aka the book that will never be finished by the end of this year.

So yes writing and lots of it are most definitely staying on the list.
Reading

I'm managing to manage this one quite well so far so I'm really just hoping that I can keep on top of this and to also carry on mixing up some of my reads.  Currently I'm on a bit of paranormal kick courtesy of a series I'm working my way through.
Watching and Reviewing

Also going pretty good.  I reviewed over 400 movies last year so I'm hoping to do at least that many this year... if not more.
Saving Money, Making Money and Being Frugal

The one thing that probably most of us are doing at the moment considering the rising cost of pretty much everything.  For the first time Other Half and I made a yearly budget so we'll just have to see how that works out.  So far we're managing to stick to our adjusted grocery budget, of course getting free eggs is definitely helping along with me picking up a new client.  I just need to work on getting a couple more so that's another task for this month.

Maybe I can just rest later...

All The Plans 2025

You know the saying... man plans... and well disaster strikes derailing those plans big time.  And by big time I mean come to a complete stop.  All I can say is never break your leg in 3 places or break it so badly that you have to have surgery to fix it.  On the plus side I am now at least part cyborg courtesy of the metal rod that is now inside my leg.

But it's a new year and a new start so plans are once again on the table. We'll just ignore the year that was 2024 and yell out yay for 2025.

And the plans are...

Reading

One that never goes away which is just as well considering how many books I keep finding to add to my ever increasing To Be Read pile.
Gardening

That year that we won't talk about sadly saw my lovely garden become an utter disaster zone with more weeds than plants.  Luckily I have so far managed to almost catch up with the endless weeding and pruning and it's starting to once again look like an actual garden rather than a serious hazardous site.  As you can imagine the plan is to carrying on with the tidying and hopefully get some fruit and veg from it this year as well as getting it ready for the winter.
101 Things in 1001 Days

I seriously need to make a start on this because at this rate nothing is going to get crossed off.
Writing

The one thing that I have actually managed to do.  Would you believe I written almost 10,000 words in the past few months.  I know right?  Even I'm amazed at that one.  Definitely staying on the list and hoping like anything I can actually finish a story.

All The Plans 2024

Another year another lot of plans.  So so many plans.  I'm already beginning to wonder how I'm going to finish them all.  Which is possibly not a good sign.  Still I have a plan - or plans and that is always a good thing.

I'll just have to keep myself motivated with endless cake and chocolate.  Doesn't sound too bad really...

Reading

Always on list and always - or at least mostly - going well.  Really the only plan is keep on top of my endless To Be Read pile and hopefully read a few more books in different genres.  A pretty easy goal... I hope.
Gardening

Going well at least in terms of me doing actual gardening.  We won't talk about the very hit and miss growing or not growing if we're being honest is going.  The weather unfortunately is one thing we can't plan on.

This year I'm focusing more on tidying up my garden layout which means drawing up plans and then trying to put them in place.  I'm keen to put in some more permanent looking garden beds and some garden paths.  Both using some of the various things we have got laying around as well as a few freebies from the local recycling centre.

I also want to plant more flowers and some more fruit trees.  And of course along with all that there's the annual laying down of cardboard, compost etc to be done before the winter well and truly hits.

It's going to be a busy few months.
101 Things in 1001 Days

A new year and a new 101 things in 1001 days list to complete.  Or at the very least start.  I definitely want to cross a few things of the list.  Because as you know it's long and complicated.  See list.
Watching

More of a winter thing really so it's probably good that our winters down here are pretty much an outdoor no go and that I get to hunker down inside with books and movies and jigsaws.  It's on the list just to remind me to keep watching and keep reviewing.
Writing

By now you all know the drill.  It's on the list.  It's staying on the list.  And I will be forever haunted by words and stories that I need to write up.

Amazingly I did make a small start last year.  So I'm really hoping to continue with that and maybe actually finish something.  So many stories... so much confusion in my head, which probably explains a lot.

All The Plans... Or How I'll Go Insane But At Least I'll Have Cake and Chocolate

You would think after 2 failures of doing this that I would be crazy to try again.  And yet here I am once again undertaking 101 Things in 1001 Days.  Because obviously I'm seriously twisted.

What can I say?  I love me a plan and a list.  So really how could I resist doing this again.

As before I've tweaked some of the goals, taken off some and added some new ones.  All the while trying to at least to be reasonably realistic while keeping it challenging.  Or challenging to me at least.

Failure is Still My Middle Name... Or How I Went On My 101 Things in 1001 Days Project

And so it goes again.  Another 101 things in 1001 days completed.  This time I completed 33 of my 101 tasks which is 3 more than last time.  So I guess that's progress, right?

We'll just not talk about the 68 fails... Although I did give some a go even if I didn't quite meet my target.  Hopefully I can do better with my next lot of 101 things...

Start:    1 Feb 2021

3.     Buy only second hand clothes for 1 year

4.     Do 5 things that are good for the environment     Again easy to do thanks to buying mostly second hand, planting a garden, etc.

9.     Drink water every day for 1 month

10.   Experience a White Christmas

November Plans... All The Gardening

I know.  I know.  I am a terrible person.  Four months and no posts.  But I'm back and ready to get stuck with regular writing and posting.

So for the first post in awhile it's all the plans.  Most importantly - gardening plans.

Would you believe I even drew up a plan that's how organised I am.  Of course whether I end up carrying out the plans remains to be seen.  But hey at least I have plans.  Lots and lots of plans.
The plan for the garden this season is to plant all the things.  Lots and lots of things.  Partly because I've got the space, partly because the price of things keeps going up (something we can all relate too) and partly because it's good for the planet and good for us.

Last season my growing was a bit hit and miss.  Mostly due to the up and down weather we had which sadly meant that plants did not cope well.  Still on the plus I did manage to try my hand at growing some new things with some success.  So it was all misery at least.

Carrots did well and this time they were lovely and straight and not all weirdly shaped like the previous year due to me learning to plant them in nice burial aka carrot mounds.

Corn also did well... at least until the wind came along and snap them all in half which pretty much ruined my lovely tall crop that was doing so well.  Sob.

Radishes were a dud for some weird reason with nothing growing.  Unlike the previous year where I grew heaps.  I'm putting it down to the bad weather and crossing fingers that this year things will be back to normal.

Tomatoes did well... really really well.  So much so that I ended up giving away bags and bags to various friends and neighbours.

Cucumber, pumpkin, lettuces, beans and peas did okay.  And my sunflowers were amazing despite only three of them popping up
This year I'm planting a lot more.

I'm doubling the corn and the pumpkin.  Because yum.  And as well as the usual carrots, lettuces, radishes and tomato's I'm also trying my hand at growing silverbeet, celery, climbing beans, brussel sprouts, beetroot, watermelon and even more sunflowers.

Now it's all about the planting, growing seedlings, more planting and a lot of crossing fingers that it all goes well.

Wish me luck... and lots of veg and sunflowers.

July Plans

With winter arriving here with a vengeance and snow suddenly covering all the hills around us July it seems is very much going to be an indoor kind of month which naturally means indoor plans.

Reading

I have a huge To Be Read pile which is definitely going to come in handy these wintry months.  Just change the wine to hot chocolate and I'm pretty much set.
Watching and Reviewing

Along with a ton of reading I've also got a pretty impressive To Be Watched list which naturally means a lot of Letterboxd reviews will need to be written.

Saving Money, Making Money and Being Frugal

Surprisingly going well.  All that veg I grew last summer has come in handy and I've been busy making lots and lots of soup.  I've also got a gardening job which is bringing in a few extra dollars each month.  I just need to add some more gardening or cleaning jobs and I'm set.

June Plans

Man plans and everything grinds to grinding halt.  Especially when dealing with life and family stress.  This time round neither the head or the body were willing and now here we are 3 months since I last posted anything.  Lets hope the next 7 months are a lot better.

Gardening

The garden is pretty much at a standstill at the moment, despite me not finishing all the laying down of cardboard and compost.  Sadly the weather caught up just a bit faster than I thought it would.  Now it's just a wait and see and planning for next spring and all the prepping and planting I'll be doing then.
Reading

With the brain being on strike the reading  - other than the odd audio book - has also come to a complete stop which means my To Be Read pile has definitely grown.  Hopefully i can do some catching up over these winter months.
Get Fit and Healthy

Weirdly going well.  I'm walking pretty much every day and eating pretty well.  Who knew that life slowly crumbling away in personal areas could be good for you in other areas.
Saving money, Making Money And Being Frugal

Probably something that we are all doing.  I'm currently madly doing all the surveys I can to earn free vouchers, plus not spending any money other than on necessities such as food and power and would you believe it... job hunting.  Just something part time and maybe working from home just to ease the burden a bit.

March Plans...

As you can see the writing is going well...

Cue hysterical laughter and multiple head desks.  Oh well the intent was there even if no action happened.  What can I say.  It's been a weird couple of months what with heat, the drought and the wind throw in some upsetting family stuff and that was me out for the count head wise.

And yet despite all of that the plans have amazingly been going well.  So much so that everything is just doing it's thing.

I keep wondering how long that will last...

Gardening

Despite or maybe because of everything going so well I have got even more plans.  Other than the tomatoes and pumpkins I've pretty much harvested everything out of my garden for the season and the freezer is nice and full of corn, carrots and peas, all ready for the winter.

Still that doesn't mean that nothing needs to be done.  I'm now in the prepping stage for the winter which means laying down a ton of cardboard, green and brown matter and compost so it can all slowly rot down ready to give me good soil come next season.  I already have the feeling I'm going to be dreaming about cardboard.
Reading

Would you believe that my To Be Read pile is still nice and low and manageable?  IKR?  Even I find that amazing.  And yet here we are.  How that happened I have no idea.  Hopefully I can keep it up.
Watching

Yep another one that is going well.  I'm madly working through my Letterboxd reviewing and I've even managed to catch up on some shows that I've been wanting to watch for ages.  Bridgerton, Julia and A Discovery of Witches are now finally in my finished pile.

Do I spy a Supernatural catch up marathon on the horizon?  We'll just have to see.
Get Fit and Healthy

So much gardening so little time to do anything else.  Thankfully the cooler weather is just around the corner so I can get stuck back into my daily walks all over town.  I've actually kind of missed them.  But with 30 degree temps walking as definitely been off the agenda.  I'd rather sit in front of a lovely cooling fan any day.

All The Plans 2023

Plan Girl should be my name or at the very least my super hero name because I love a good plan or even better a good list.  Mmm may be List Girl should be my super hero name instead?

Either way I've got me some plans and some lists which means a busy 2023.  Oh well I could always just curl up with a good book instead...

Reading

I'm not sure why I need to plan for this since reading is something I do pretty much every day.  Still it's nice to have a general idea of what I would like to achieve this year.  Which is basically keep mixing it up and keep hunting for all those potentially good reads.  Sounds like a plan right there.
Gardening

All of last year's hard work seems to be paying off so far.  I've got fruit trees planted, have laid down a ton of cardboard and compost to help improve the soil and so far the corn, rhubarb, cucumber, tomato and lettuces are all growing well.

This year I want to lay down even more cardboard and compost and get the garden ready for winter, start a herb garden and get a rather overgrown corner of the garden under control.
Get Fit and Get Healthy

I actually managed to do pretty well this year as far as getting plenty of exercise what with all the walking and gardening so really all I need to focus on this year is doing better with my eating and try to drink even more water on a regular bases rather than my hit and run approach.
Crafting

I've got 2 looms now which gives me no excuse to get stuck in and try my hand at some loom knitting.
101 Things in 1001 Days

I'm seriously way behind in this which is kind of scary as my deadline is coming closer and closer.  So with that haunting me I really want to cross a few more things off this list.
Watching

One of the few plans that is still going really well so I just need to keep this up which shouldn't be too hard what with all the snow we get down here.  Perfect weather for catching up on movies and movie reviewing.
Writing

I know, I know.  I really do keep wondering why I keep planning for this but this I think will be the year that I do finally get stuck in with some serious writing.  One can only plan right?

December Plans: It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

It's that time again.  When I bury myself in all things Christmasy for the next 31 days.  And as usual I have a pretty long list to get through before 'C day'.  So many books, so many movies, so many cakes I'm going to have to eat to help me get through it all.

Reading

I really need snow.  And endless hot chocolate.  And a roaring fire.  Instead I've got rain.  Some how Christmas in the Southern part of the world really does seem unfair.  Oh well at least I've got a ton of feel good Christmasy reads to wallow in.
Gardening

If this rain keeps up I'm really not going to be doing much gardening except to sob over my ruined veggie patch.  Can we all just pray now for some warm sunny days.
Movie Watching

You really don't want to know how many Christmas movies there are on my list.  Let's just say I might be awhile and to send plenty of lovely cold drinks.
Writing... Or Not

With all the reading and watching going on there's not going to be a lot of time for writing.  Maybe I should just curl up into a ball right now.
