Let the brain melt commence.
All For Love
Starring: That guy from Andromeda
Original release: 2017
Synopsis: A romance novelist goes on a Navy Seal boot camp as a way to make her writing more realistic.
Opposites attract only she's a tiny bit annoying - it's her voice I think that drives me slightly insane and he's all manly man. Plus they had zero chemistry together.
A cute story that would have worked better for me with a different actress.
Winter Love Story
Starring: Pretty brunettes
Original release: 2019
Synopsis: A first time author is paired with an experienced author on her very first book tour.
This was just lovely.
Cute story, cute actors, cute romance - it was just a cute fest all round. And it's about writers and writing so totally a win for me in all ways.
Cloudy With A Chance of Love
Starring: She looked better with glasses than without.
Original release: 2015
Synopsis: An academic gets hired as a weather girl.
She's a nerdy braniac which I loved. Until they gave her makeover.
Why? Why would you even go there? Wearing glasses makes you unattractive? Like seriously?
Thank God they undid that bit near the end and turned her back into looking like herself.
There was also zero chemistry.
So I'm torn on this one. Parts I loved and parts just annoyed the hell out of me.
Love on the Sidelines
Starring: She was killed in The Walking Dead
Original release: 2016
Synopsis: A struggling young woman gets a job as a PA to an injured football star.
Now this worked.
Due mostly to the actress who was just so nice and bubbly yet awkward too. I'd love her to do more of these kind films. Hallmark need to team her up with Andrew W. Walker or Kevin McGarry ASAP.
Summer Villa
Starring: He was in Continuum.
Original release: 2016
Synopsis: A romance novelist struggling with her latest novel goes to France.
He was swoon worthy, while she was... okay.
Still it's about a novelist and it's set in France so it was watchable in the way mindless romance movies can sometimes be.
Starring: Not a clue
Original release: 2017
Synopsis: An interior designer adopts a dog and gets help from a dog trainer.
Once again the male lead worked but the female was just so so.
I need chemistry people. Lots and lots of chemistry.
Same Time Next Week
Starring: She was in Firefly
Original release: 2017
Synopsis: A widow and a widower meet up each week to talk and eat pie.
OMG they got so many things right with this movie in terms of how people cope with the death of a spouse. I could totally relate to their conversations and how they felt.
Big plus just for getting that right.
And another for Jewel Staite who needs to do more of these movies.
Bottled With Love
Starring: The guy who is always in these Hallmark movies
Original release: 2019
Synopsis: A letter in a bottle that is thrown out to see connects two people.
I liked this because of its original angle.
Another cute fest all round.
