The Viewing Files: 2018 A Year Of All The Watching TV Edition

It may have been a year of all the books but it was also the year of all the watching.  And not just movies, despite the 365 Days project. Nope, there was also a fair bit of TV show watching too.

Trend wise crime shows were once again on top followed by the odd sci-fi and the occasional drama, all with a twist of course and all wonderfully brilliant in their own way.

A few of these shows ended this year and due to me being a lot more ruthless in my selection of new shows I ended the year by marathoning some old favourites.

So what was on this year's viewing agenda...

Crime Shows Galore.

This year was definitely all about murder and betrayal and cold blooded killers.  So many good shows that it's hard to pick a favourite.  Series 3 of Unforgotten was probably the standout.  Heartbreaking and with a killer that will stay in your mind long after.

As for the rest...

Time travel featured in at least 3 of them with 12 Monkeys being the standout.  Seriously twisty and complicated and with one of the best endings of a series ever. Travelers was a very close 2rd with cliff hangers at the end of season 2 and 3 that left you on the edge of your seat.

Throw in a couple of spy thrillers and a delightful and quirky comedy drama with amazing clothes that I totally wish to have and you have most of this year's TV viewing.  And yes Supernatural, The Blacklist, Lucifer, Elementary and iZombie were still there too.
