250 books read by me during a year. 35 more books than last year. How is that even possible?
Anyone would think I have no life. Which okay this may be slightly true. But I do do other things beside just reading. There's the regular walking, gardening, movie watching, family tree research, knitting and the daily tasks of life and well you see where I am going with this.
And yet that figure still remains. It's no wonder I am now wondering if I can read 365 books in 1 year. Because what the hell, maybe I should just go for it and embrace this mad reading ability that I have. We'll just have to wait and see.
In the mean time lets break that total down. Of the 250 books...
59 Crime
53 non fiction
44 Chick lit
42 YA
20 audio books
11 General fiction
9 Contemporary Romance
8 Thrillers/Adventure
2 Sci-fi
1 Historical fiction
1 Fantasy
Both my YA and Contemporary Romance were down quite a bit from last year while non fiction and Chick lit soared up. I wanted to get my non fiction reading up this year and I certainly achieved that goal and then some. 53 titles in all and only one of them was a knitting book so I'm super pleased about that. Reading that many in 2019 might be a bit of a struggle but I'm keen to keep up with reading more non fiction. Crime was the big one this year due mostly to me still working my way through various series.
Disappointments were few. A handful of books that I thought I would like and which had lots of rave reviews turned out to be totally not the books for me. As for the rest ... well here is the list of everything I read in 2018.
