Christopher Robin
Starring: Ewen McGregor and Hayley Atwell
Original release: 2018
Synopsis: A little boy who grew up..
Winnie the Pooh was the very first book that I was given so naturally I really wanted to like this movie.
Sadly it's all a bit meh though the actors try their best.
I'll think I'll stick Disney's original Winnie the Pooh movie in all its animated glory.
Starring: Kiwi's
Original release: 2018
Synopsis: The business of breaking up.
And that's two for two.
Another one I wanted to like and another one that was all bit meh. Not nearly as funny as I thought it would be or as it likes to think it is.
Not a good start to the week's viewing.
The Girl in the Spider's Web
Starring: The woman who play the Queen
Original release: 2018
Synopsis: A hacker gets in over her head.
Would you believe three for three. Seriously maybe I should stop picking movies.
Watchable - but only just.
Juliet Naked
Starring: Rose Byrne and Ethan Hawke
Original release: 2018
Synopsis: Stuck-in-a-rut Annie strikes up a correspondence with a elusive one time famous musician who her boyfriend happens to idolise.
Finally. A movie that actually works and is totally sweet. Ethan Hawke totally rocks the musician vibe and of a man who really just wants to get on with life but has no idea how until he meets Annie, a woman whose life is in just as much of a rut as his is.
Kind of lovely and down-beat all round.
Crazy Rich Asians
Starring: Asians everywhere
Original release: 2018
Synopsis: An uber-rich romcom
Don't even think about the story because as we romcom watchers know, t's been done before.
Instead just sit back and wallow in all the glitz and go in knowing it will all work its self out in the end.
Don't a bad romcom but sadly let down by the virtual zero chemistry between the two leads.
Always at the Caryle
Starring: n/a
Original release: 2018
Synopsis: An inside look at one of the World's most exclusive hotels.
What the blurb said.
Autumn Stables
Starring: No idea who they are
Original release: 2018
Synopsis: A widow sells her ranch but finds it difficult to let it go.
A Hallmark kind of movie that is actually not made by Hallmark.
A romance that also stars horses and a rather nice looking house. I actually paid more attention to the house than to the story. Just saying.
A pleasant way to wile away a couple of hours just don't expect much.
Professor Marston and the Wonder Women
Starring: Luke Evans and Rebecca Hall
Original release: 2017.
Synopsis: The unconventional life of Dr William Martson, the man who created Wonder Woman.
A beautiful love story between three people in an era when being conventional was the norm.
Sad and beautiful and just fascinating.
