Being sick is never fun. Throw in winter and all the wet and windy weather that comes with it and it seems even more unappealing.
The only joy is that if you're anything like me you're probably too feverish to notice or care. Once the fever is gone though there is the road to recovery, that snugly time when your energy levels are the absolute pits and just the idea of standing on your feet for a minute is so exhausting that you end up having an hour long nap just to cope.
After being struck with one of those 'viruses' that seem to be the doctor's phrase for every disease known and unknown I'm now at the recovery stage and the couch along with comfy blankets and pillows is calling me. Endless naps are on my horizon... at least for the next few days. Luckily I've got a few of my 'comforts' to help make it easier.
Garfield
I adore Garfield. He is my spirit animal in every way. I can just pick up a book, read a cartoon and instantly feel all warm and glowy and comfy
Wallace and Gromit
If Garfield is my spirit animal then Gromit is my hero. He's always calm, totally smart and can do anything he sets his mind to. He also makes a mean cup of tea.
Macaroni cheese
I am very lucky to have an Other Half who is brilliant at cooking. Even better he made me macaroni cheese following Martha Stewart's recipe courtesy of what he refers to as the Holy Bible - YouTube. And let me tell you it was so yum and the perfect food to have when you're feeling energy deficit.
Socks
Wearing socks always make me feel good, especially quirky socks with quirky designs. I mean how cute are these. And why yes I do have them. Because how could I not. Because beavers. Looking cute.
So what are your comforts when feeling sick?
